On February 9, local time, the Contract-signing and Awarding Ceremony of the "Overseas Chengdu" Work Station in the United States (Nashville), took place in the American city of Nashville. Cooperation agreement for the establishment of the "Overseas Chengdu" work station in Nashville was signed between the Inspector of the Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Zhong Laizhao and the Executive Director of the Tennessee Diversity and Culture Center of the United States Li Zhengrong, and the two also awarded nameplate to the station.

Nashville is the capital city of the state of Tennessee, a center of culture in southeastern United States and a renowned American "city of music". Nashville's music industry employs more than 60,000 people, accounting for one-tenths of the city population, and its music industry is worth a staggering USD 11 billion. The Tennessee Diversity and Culture Center is dedicated to the promotion of Chinese culture and committed to promoting Sino-American cross-cultural exchanges and mutually benefits and win-win development through education, commerce and tourism activities.

The founding of the work station will further encourage the two sides to carry out more in-depth and extensive cooperation in a wider range of areas, establish new non-state interaction and matchmaking platform, and effectively promote exchanges in the humanities, collaboration in the music industry, development in cultural creativity, connectivity in commerce and introduction of talents between the two parties. The work station will provide consultation to Chengdu regarding international models for the creation of a "city of music" and bolster the sharing of resources and information.

David Ross, President of the International Music Industries Association, was present at the contract-signing ceremony.
